Faculty members WALMI attend a 2-day Training programme on SSI and SRI implementation at AgSri School
Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) is responsible for training of staff of Water Resources Department, Command Area Development Authorities and Water Users in the State of Karnataka. In addition, WALMI in collaboration with water users cooperative societies, other development departments, university of agricultural sciences, Dharwad and NGOs are doing action research on participatory and sustainable water and land management practices in the irrigated commands.

One of the interventions they would like to try is Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative (SSI). In this connection, they identified farmers, arranged exposure visits and are about to start implementation of SSI. Considering the significant work done by AgSri in SSI and SRI methods, the WLMI Faculty members, Mrs. Parvati Giregoudar; Ms.S.B.Magadum and Mr.Pradeep Devarmani,  attended a 2-day training programme on SSI and SRI implementation at AgSri School.

The training was facilitated by AgSri team; Dr. Biksham Gujja, Dr. Loganandhan and Dr. Padmaja.
