National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)

NABARD was set up as an apex Development Bank with a mandate for facilitating credit flow for promotion and development of agriculture, small-scale industries, cottage and village industries, handicrafts and other rural crafts. It also has the mandate to support all other allied economic activities in rural areas, promote integrated and sustainable rural development and secure prosperity of rural areas. NABARD's strategies, inter alia, cover formulation and circulation of Model Bankable Schemes and Location Specific Bankable Schemes to the financing banks.

NABARD has set up a full-fledged Natural Resource Management Centre (NRMC) at Kolkata. Natural resources in the context of agriculture and rural development mainly comprise of land, water, forest, energy, biological and climate resources needed to sustain and improve quality of life

Sugarcane Breeding Institute (SBI), Coimbatore

Sugarcane Breeding Institute (SBI), Coimbatore, India, one of the pioneering breeding institutes in the world was established in 1912, to evolve superior varieties of sugarcane to cater to the needs of the various agro-climatic zones in the country. The highly valued varieties of sugarcane evolved by the Institute have elevated the status of the nation from a sugar importer to the largest manufacturer of sugar in the world today.

AgSri

AgSri has been established to promote the innovative solutions to the agriculture and water sector.
